July 23rd, 2008

Chapter 11 focuses on the ethical issues of technology. Copying computer software, videos, etc. without proper authorization is a federal offense. Violations of copyright laws include heavyfines and possible imprisonment. Teachers need to consider brevity, spontaneity, cumulative effect and repetition when copying materials for educational purposes. Following the fair use guidelines will help keep teachers within the law when using multimedia in the classroom.
