Chapter 14 Summary

July 22nd, 2008

A blog is an online method of communication allowing for the editing and posting of images and videos. Teachers can use blogs in the classroom for writing, creating comments on assignments, expression of ideas and problem-solving. Before a teacher begins classroom blogging, he or she should create a list of blog rules and etiquette, and consider sending a letter home to parents informing them of the classroom blog. RSS stands for Rich site summary. RSS allows a person to aggregate dozens of blogs into one. RSS feeds in the classroom allow a teacher to scan all class content in one place. A wiki is a website where content can be added to or edited and allows for collaboration among students and teachers.
